Chadlington First Team rose to second in Division One on Saturday as they hung on to a lead to beat Milton Under Wychood 2-1 at home.
Chadlington were 2-0 up at the half time break and despite Milton pulling a goal back in the second half gained all three points.
The goals came from Matt Chadwick, his 8th of the season so far and Lee Woodward.
Team: Bayliss, Webb (c), Walker G, Walker T, Hazlewood, Holland, Morley, Hughes, Taylor M, Godfrey, Chadwick. Subs: Woodward, Harris, Scearce.
Chadlington Reserves beat the form books to thump top of the table Kingham Reserves 3-0 away on Saturday.
Kingham Res were not only top of Division Four but also unbeaten so far but their display was well below par as Chadlington quickly took a hold of the game.
Within minutes, they were 1-0 up through Matty Wezyk. Up at the other end, the experience of Kevin Mulhearn and Adam Tinkham in defence in front of the returning Steven Hunt in goal was resolute and Chad snuffed out any attempt for the home side to get back into the game.
Before half time Matty Wezyk doubled the score as Chadlingtons young forward line tormented the Kingham players.
At half time the score was 2-0, still a dangerous scoreline as they knew that Kingham would come out hard. However the skill of Wezyk, supported by strike partner Ellis Godin was just too good. Wezyk grabbed his hat-trick and gave Chad an outstanding 3-0 win. The clean sheet was also a huge bonus, the first side to have stopped Kingham scoring since January.
The three points cement the Reserves in third position and leave them just 1 point behind their rivials in the league.
Team: Hunt, Godin E, Mulhearn (c), Foster, Tinkham, Wellstood, Hobden, Waller, Taylor M, Godin E, Wezyk. Subs: Kemp, Watson
