Chadlington First Team suffered their third defeat in a row on Saturday as they went down 2-0 to Moreton Rangers.
The defeat now leaves them 7 points behind Moreton who are in second place. Chadlington have 2 games in hand but will need to turn results around quickly if they are to maintain any sort of promotion push.
Team: Bennett, Webb(c), Walker G, Taylor, Holland, Hazlewood, Hughes, Moreley, Godfrey, Peachey, Woodward. Subs. Bradley, Sauvagnargues
Chadlington Reserves also suffered defeat on Saturday as they were dumped out of the Hughes Supplementary Cup in the first round by holders and unbeaten Division Three leaders, Carterton Town B.
Playing on the smallest of pitches ever seen in the W&D the Reserves started bright and could have opened the scoring within the first minute. However Carterton scored 4 quick goals as Chad imploaded in defence. Carterton knew exactly how to play on their pitch as they put the back line under constant pressure.
Chad though did get themselves back into the game as 2 quick counter attacks resulted in goals for Ollie Jordan and Charlie White. At 4-2 the game looked to be back on but a Carterton goal just before half time snuffed out any resistance. HT 5-2.
The home side scored another 3 goals in the second half as they were dominant in attack. Ollie Jordan added a third for Chad, exposing mistakes in the oppositions back four but the final score ended up 8-3 to the holders.
This was only one of a handful of times Carterton B had conceeded for than 3 goals in the last 2 seasons and the Reserves can take many positives from their performance despite the result.
Team: Betts, Godin A, Foster, Jeffcock (c), Waller, Hobden, McMahon, Wellstood, Jordan, White, Godin E. Subs: Hannington, Kemp
