Following last weeks disappointing defeat to FC Nomads at home the First Team were looking to bounce back with a strong performance against Eynsham. Despite their opponents being lower in the league they had previously thumped Chad earlier in the season and so a hard game was expected.
The task would be made no easier by a complete reshuffle to the side with various absentees meaning several Reserve Team players being called in. The side were also carrying a number of injuries and when Jacob Hazlewood limped off early in the second half with a hamstring pull it seemed as though a draw would be the best result.
On to the pitch though came the evergreen veteran striker Andy Watson and he immediately made an impact. His first touch almost lobbing the impressive Eynsham goalkeeper. At 52, Andy can still outwit many a defender and he was unlucky with several other chances.
Both sides continued to battle hard throughout the game and in the end merely cancelled each other out with the final result ending 0-0.
A good solid, battling team performance and the clean sheet were the positives that Chad took from the game, however it is goals that seem hard to come by recently.
