Chadlington First Team returned to home football on Saturday but came up just short of a stronger than usual Hailey Reserves.
Despite going 4-1 down Chad bounced back in the second half and even had a late equaliser dubiously ruled out.
Goals came from Hans Korge, Jacob Hazlewood and Will Foster.
Chadlington Reserves travelled away to Hailey A and similarly just came up short on the day. Despite grabbing a 1-0 lead via Sam Coles in the game a couple of mistakes saw them fall 3-1 behind in the second half.
The deficit was reduced by Mauro Esteves to 3-2 and the Res had chances to equalise via George Slatter but it wasn't to be their day as they tired on the rock hard pitch on a hot afternoon.
