Saturday 5th February - Results

Chadlington First Team welcomed Division One promotion hopefuls Minster Lovell on Saturday and it was the visitors that ran out winners.

At half time Chad found themselves 1-0 down to a long range dipping shot. The score line was harsh on their first half performance especially as Chad had chances of their own to take the lead.

On his return to the club after an absence of 12 years, Mark Corbett slotted well in at centre back along side Daniel Cleevely to form a formidable and experienced pairing. Along side them Will Foster and Josh Betts put in a solid and determined performance. Ethan Bennett once again teamed up with the returning Pete Tate in centre midfield and both played well.

The second half didn't start well and within minutes they were 2-0 behind. 15 minutes later the score line was 3-0 as a shot was deflected past keeper Luke Bayliss.

There seemed to be no real way back for Chad despite them continuing to play good football until Matt Chadwick was up ended in the Minster box and a penalty was awarded.

Rocky Burton stepped up to the mark and put it away. Despite the keeper getting a hand on it, Burton had hit it hard enough into the corner for it not to be stopped.

Chad started to press more and looked like getting another goal back but they just couldn't keep Minster out at the other end and a fourth was conceded.

At full time the score line was 4-1 and while not deserving to win the game, Chad didn't deserve the score line and can take positives in the way that they played.

Team: Bayliss, Cleevely (c), Corbett, Foster, Betts, E Bennett, Tate, J Walker, Woodward, Korge, Chadwick. Subs: Burton.

Next Match: Saturday 12th Feb. HOME v Wootton Sports

Chadlington Reserves travelled to Leafield in Division Three off the back of some indifferent form.

It was once again a much changed side but there was some good news with Iuri Esteves returning having missed the last two and half years through injury. Into the side also came Freddie Magee to provide some much needed experience.

Despite the form and the changes the Reserves put in a solid performance against a lively opposition. On the score sheet was George Slatter once again via a penalty and Iuri Esteves then came off the bench with 20 minutes to go to put Chad into a second half lead. Leafield equalised shortly after but an away point to a team third in the league was certainly a point gained.

Team: Ware, A Bennett, Hobden (c), Legg, S Bennett, Mayne, Waller, J Cleevely, Magee, Slatter, M Esteves. Subs: I Esteves.

Next Game: Saturday 19th February. HOME v Hailey A.
